PATIENCE

Image
So after our last discuss on Bring Back Our Sanity, its been a while since we got a discuss to feed your eyes and mind. Many would have even grown impatient about our seeming abandonment, so I thought it right to address that topic; PATIENCE . What is Patience? Well patience can be referred to as the capacity of being patient, which is the ability to remain calm and not become annoyed when waiting for a long time or when dealing with problems or difficult people. We all want things done at the time we want them done; perfect timing. As much as we love this, it doesn’t always pan out that way. We get disappointed because of the expectations placed on certain things to be done in a certain way at a certain time. The question now is what if those certain things don’t get done in the certain way we want at the certain time we expect, do we get frustrated: angry because we feel we can’t do anything about it? Or do we get angry at those who didn’t make it happen the way we wanted? O...

BRING BACK SANITY

Image
From inception, the Supreme God, head of the universe said, " Let us make MAN in our own image .". This 'making' was an epochal invention in the calendar of God. Everything God created was a hit, back to back. From the firmament to the stars, from the land to the seas and to the animals. Man, was not an exception- an awesome masterpiece from the master. But, it is disheartening that in this 21st century, some men, though not all, in their lack of technical knowledge and intellectual foolishness take decisions to ruin the information that has been genetically and conceptually coded in them. And, this will cost them. The issue of " Transgender " is a salient issue that must be addressed with so much alacrity before it aggravates to becoming an unremovable thorn in our flesh. Let me create a window of understanding in this height of human perplexity. Years ago, a British make-up artist, Jordan James, spent a whopping sum of 150 thousand dollars on ...

Choice

Image
Choice is one of the few things I see as ultimate. From the moment we start thinking, our actions are determined by choice. Some people may actually refute this claim, but let’s look at it critically.  A baby is crying because she wants to eat. The action (crying) is a choice made by the baby, knowing that the action would lead to something good (food). Some people would actually think that if a necessity, I am not disputing that. Take a look at this, the baby has a choice to refuse to acknowledge that he/she wants to eat at that time and could be playing with something else at that point but the baby most times decides to acknowledge that food is needed at that point in time and then heeds to the call. Why am I talking about choice? Choice seems to be really underrated with people not knowing the power choice has. The Merriam-Webster dictionary describes choice as the opportunity or power to choose between two or more possibilities. Do you recall the example I gave, there w...

Worry Management

Worry I’m seated at this table, thinking about how and what I would write. I didn’t know what to write about or how I’ll go about writing it. Confused, tired, and feeling stressed with my head aching, then I thought about writing what’s happening to me, the same thing that happens to many people. Worry. Many people worry. In fact almost everyone worry. Worry is an uneasy feeling caused by thoughts of what will happen if this or that is done. Worry doesn’t make one look at how a problem would be solved, instead, one keeps looking at the possible outcomes of a certain decision taken. This can cause stress. As it can cause physical stress, it can also cause mental stress. Having these kind of stress can affect the way our day can be. One can be affected physically also, displaying symptoms of what happened to me earlier, tiredness, confusion. When you worry, it affects your reaction to certain actions. Let me use myself as an example. While being worried about what to write about a...

Stress Management

Image
While I’m not a doctor or medical practitioner of any kind, there are some things I’ve could out through reading, listening and observations. I’ve learned about somethings that people experience that they don’t know about, or they know about but don’t understand properly, like today’s topic for example. What is Stress According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, stress is a state of mental tension and worry caused by problems in your life, work, etc or something that cause feelings of worry or anxiety. The things that cause stress are called stressors. There are different types of stressors. They basically depend on what is experienced by the person. There are physical stressors, which affect the physical aspect of the body from body pains to bone ache, muscle pain etc. These pain experience could be as a result of the workload put on the body. Working the body too much for too long could cause this form of stress. It can make it hard for one to perform some basic operations lat...

Anger management

Image
ANGER There are many books, articles, stories about anger or anger management. Still, we see people who don’t read these articles or books probably they see it as not important. I decided to write about anger today because there are some things people do overlook that may be of importance to them without them knowing. Our attitude to anger can determine where we find ourselves tomorrow or the next. WHAT IS ANGER? Anger is a reaction, an emotional response to a particular situation that offends someone or a person they love. The Longman Dictionary describes angry as ‘felling strong emotions which make you want to shout at someone or hurt them because they have behaved in an unfair, cruel, offensive way, or because you think that a situation is unfair, unacceptable, etc.’ This description highlights the point that anger makes you want to either shout or hurt someone. Now let’s talk about the effect of anger. While many don’t see this, anger actually causes increased heart r...

Should we end it

Image
SHOULD WE END IT? When is it right to end a relationship? While I’m not advocating that you should end your relationship, there are signs that shouldn’t be overlooked. For a relationship to grow, there must be effort from the two people in the relationship. The moment that isn’t there, there’s problem. I believe when there are issues, it can be sorted out so that the relationship can continue. When do you decide to end your relationship though? Last time, we discussed narcissism. While loving yourself is not completely bad, narcissism makes that love you have for yourself develop to a state that you have to make others feel less just to make yourself feel better than them which sometimes make them talk about themselves more, so that others will be envious of them, thereby benefiting themselves only. There are some who behave like this in a relationship. They can frustrate a relationship sometimes, but that doesn’t call for an end to this relationship. For some, relationshi...
